Taste of Israel
An Israeli culinary tour. No passport required.
Taste of Israel is Boston’s first and only Israeli restaurant week.
Created by JArts in 2019, the event encourages both chefs and foodies to explore Israel’s diverse culinary landscape. Participating restaurants are challenged to create 3-5 special dishes using ingredients from our curated IsraeliBox. Their unique takes on Israeli cuisine are featured on each restaurant’s menu for the duration of the week.
Dine at a participating restaurant, learn the stories behind the dishes, and order your own box of JArts-curated ingredients to make your own Israeli-inspired creations!

To kick off Taste of Israel 2020, Forward Editor Rukhl Schaechter made a classic Israeli dessert: tea biscuit cake, or ugat biskvitim (עוגת ביסקויטים) as it’s known in Hebrew.
Ilan Barniv is the chef and entrepreneur behind BONAPITA Mediterranean Bakery and Grill, located in West Roxbury and Downtown Boston. Barniv participates in Taste of Israel every year.
