The Most Innovative Hanukkah Celebration in the
Country Returns to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston!

Since 2015, JArts has brought the Greater Boston community together to celebrate Hanukkah at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Hanukkah: The Festival of Lights reaches thousands of people each year. Our program partners with local artists and communities to create an unforgettable evening of performance, education, craft and artistic engagement for all ages.

Community Candle Lighting
Featuring Eight Approaches, an 8-part painting by artist Joshua Meyer.

Welcome and Remarks
By Matthew Teitelbaum, Director of the Museum of Fine Arts, Laura Mandel, Executive Director of the Jewish Arts Collaborative,  and Rabbi Marc Baker, President and CEO of CJP.

Musical Performances
Curated by Nat Seelen, Artistic Director of Boston’s Festival of New Jewish Music, and featuring Ezekiel’s Wheels Klezmer Band alongside some of Boston’s top musical performers. Enjoy your favorite Hanukkah songs in Yiddish, Ladino, Hebrew, and English from an internationally acclaimed ensemble including Abigale Raisman on violin, Edmar Colón on saxophone, Grant Smith on percussion, Kirsten Lamb on upright bass and vocals, Michael McLaughlin on accordion, Nat Seelen on clarinet, Pete Fanelli on trombone, and Tutti Druyan on vocals.

Make-and-Take Art Activities
Inspired by USPS Hanukkah stamp artist, Jeanette Kuvin Oren.

Judaica Gallery Spotlight Talks
With Simona DiNepi, Curator of Judaica, and Marietta Cambareri, Curator of Decorative Arts and Sculpture.

Brighter Ignited
An illuminated traveling art exhibit will welcome guests at the Huntington entrance.

Tastes of Local Restaurants
Including potato latkes with chive crème fraiche and applesauce from the New American Cafe, and raspberry rugelach from Taste.

ASL interpretation will be available for Opening Remarks and Spotlight Talks.
